Cinematic Character Selection

Characters in a scene.
Not names in a list.

Players land in a rendered 3D scene with their characters standing in it. Hover for a card showing name, cash, bank, and job, click to select, then pick a spawn from a sky view of the map. New characters run through a validated wizard and an in-screen appearance editor. No database tables of its own.

  • QBCore · ESX · QBX
  • No SQL import, no build step

Every character gets a stage.

Existing characters stand in a rendered location, animated, in their saved clothing. Hover and the camera eases toward them with a floating info card; click and it locks on without loading anyone yet. Confirm, and the screen fades to an aerial view of Los Santos to pick a spawn.

  • Info card shows name, cash, bank, and job, read fresh each time the screen opens
  • Each player sits in a private copy of the scene, so concurrent joiners never see each other's characters
  • After selection, a sky view offers last location, owned properties, and public presets as glowing markers
  • A dimmed ghost figure marks the Create Character slot while the player is under their limit
[ 02 ]

Four backdrops, each on its own clock.

Apartment, Garage, Pier, and Sinner Street ship in the box. Players switch scenes from the menu and the pick is remembered on their machine. Each scene is plain config: camera pose, standing spots with animations, weather, time, and an optional decorative vehicle.

  • Apartment, underground garage with a sports car, seaside pier, and a street corner with a motorcycle
  • Config.Scenes.mode opens on the player's saved scene, a random one, or always the default
  • Add or remove scenes in config: camera pose, standing spots, animations, weather, time, optional vehicle
  • Weather and time apply only to the viewing player, never the live server world
[ 03 ]

Validated before it's ever saved.

New characters start with a short wizard: first name, last name, date of birth, and gender. Names and ages are checked against your limits, and duplicate names on one account or reserved words are refused server-side before the look is ever built.

  • Name length and age range are configurable; defaults are 2 to 20 characters and 18 to 80 years
  • Names allow letters, spaces, hyphens, and apostrophes, must start with a letter, and auto-capitalize
  • Whole-word blacklist ships with admin, staff, owner, and moderator; duplicates on one account are refused
  • Pause creation server-wide or restrict it to a whitelist permission, enforced on the server
[ 04 ]

Design the whole look before the first spawn.

With a supported clothing resource, the built-in editor opens right after the wizard. Face, hair, makeup, eyes, clothing, accessories, and tattoos apply live to the preview character, and the finished look saves through your clothing resource before the player ever loads in.

  • Heritage blends, face features, eye color, hair style and highlights, overlays with color and opacity
  • Drag to rotate, scroll to zoom, and jump between Full body, Upper body, Face, and Feet camera presets
  • Randomize generates a fresh look within the character's valid options
  • Works on illenium-appearance, qb-clothing, fivem-appearance, and oxide-identity; native editor elsewhere
[ 05 ]

The lobby doubles as your notice board.

Announcements with a title, body, type, and date sit on the selection screen, so restart notices and rule changes reach players before they spawn. Players pick their own accent color, VIPs and staff get extra slots by permission, and /logout brings anyone back to the scene without disconnecting.

  • Announcement types info, update, and warning set the color; long bodies preview and expand on click
  • Config.SlotGrants adds slots by ace permission or player identifier on top of the base of 5; highest wins
  • Accent color and scene choice are saved on the player's machine and restored next time
  • /logout fades to black, unloads the character, and reopens the scene; the command word is configurable

Retire the plain character list.

One resource replaces qb-multicharacter, esx_multicharacter, or the QBX built-in screen with rendered scenes, a validated creation wizard, an in-screen appearance editor, and a sky-view spawn picker. No SQL to import, no build step, and your characters stay in the framework's own tables.
