Oxide Fire

Complete fire department job for FiveM — server-synced fires, fire calls, persistent apparatus, hoses and hydrants, breathing air, rescues and a department built in game.

oxide-fire is a complete fire department job for FiveM. Every fire is run by the server, so every player sees the same fire burning in the same places, spreading with the wind and going out for everyone at once. Firefighters put it out with real equipment: attack lines run from an engine's outlets or a hydrant, supply lines that keep an engine's tank full, foam for fuel fires, extinguishers, the truck's roof cannon, and an axe for the hot spots that will not stay out.

Around the fire sits the department. Departments, stations, grades, uniforms, gear-room loadouts, apparatus bays and the places fires break out are all built from an in-game admin panel rather than from config files. Apparatus are persistent vehicles with their own water and foam tanks that survive a server restart, bought from a department treasury that also pays salaries. An automatic call generator sends vehicle, brush and structure fire calls to dispatch, the station bell rings, and on-duty firefighters get a page on their phone.

The job is dangerous, by design. Smoke hurts anyone breathing it without air, so firefighters wear breathing apparatus with a cylinder that runs down, a head-out warning and a low-air alarm the rest of the crew can hear. Structure fires can have people trapped inside on a survival clock, waiting to be found, carried out and handed over to a medic.

oxide-fire is framework-agnostic through o-link and runs on QBCore, Qbox and ESX.

Key Features

  • Department Builder — Runtime in-game admin (/fire admin): departments, grades, salaries, badges, stations, apparatus bays, uniforms, gear-room loadouts, radio channels, incident sites and wildfire zones, with a setup checklist per department
  • Stations — Clock-in points, personal lockers, a gear room, a call board and a management desk, all placed in the world with live previews
  • Hiring — Through /fire hire, job offers from the boss desktop that the player accepts, or any change to the player's framework job, with automatic badge numbers and optional multi-department enrollment
  • Five Apparatus Classes — Engine, ladder, rescue, chief and brush, each with its own water tank, foam tank, hose outlets, spare air and equipment compartment
  • Persistent Fleet — Units bought from a catalog with treasury money, taken out of station bays with keys and fuel set up, and kept in the world across restarts with their fuel, damage and water. A unit is written off only when the server itself sees it wrecked or sunk
  • Synced Fires — Server-run fires that every player sees the same way, built from burning points that heal when left alone, spread with the wind and slow in heavy rain
  • Four Fire Classes — Ordinary fires, fuel spills that water barely touches, vehicle fires and brush fires that burn out on their own
  • Three Difficulties — Casual, Standard and Realistic, changing how strong fires are, how fast they spread and whether knocked-down points smoulder and reignite
  • Smouldering Hot Spots — Burnt ash, embers and a faint glow mark every spot that will come back unless it is soaked or pulled apart with an axe
  • Three Call Types — Vehicle fires with a burning wreck, brush fires that spread only inside their wildfire zone, and structure fires that move through a building's fire points
  • In-World Incident Editor — Admins fly round a site and place its fire points, victim spots or burning wreck, seeing exactly where a call will put them, with problems flagged before saving
  • Call Generator and Alerts — On-duty minimums, a cap on burning calls and a weighted mix of call types, plus dispatch alerts that close themselves when the fire is out
  • Hoses — Attack lines with jet, fog and foam patterns, tank pressure that drops as it empties, and water that pushes props, vehicles and people
  • Hydrants and Supply Lines — Hydrants that never run dry and supply lines that keep an engine's tank full, pulling loose if the engine drives off. Water comes only from the map's real hydrants, and any an owner adds for an add-on map
  • More Tools — Fire extinguishers for anyone, the stock fire truck's roof cannon, and an axe for pulling smouldering hot spots apart
  • Breathing Air (SCBA) — A mask with an air timer, a head-out warning, a low-air alarm other players hear, and a backpack every player sees, refilled at the gear room or an apparatus
  • Smoke — Smoke around every fire darkens the view and costs health without a working mask, or is handed to oxide-medical as smoke inhalation when it is running
  • Rescue Carries and Drags — For downed players
  • Victim Search — Casualties in structure fires on a survival clock, heard by firefighters nearby, carried out to safety, then a 10-52 alert to medics and a handoff to them
  • Station Life — A station bell for new calls, phone page-outs, a call board with GPS to the fire, paid rig checks, and lightning that starts brush fires
  • Game Feedback — Points for knockdowns, assists and putting the fire out, deductions for mistakes, and a fire card showing how far the fire is knocked down. Feedback only, never paid, and it can be switched off
  • Radio Channels — Department radio channels with rank and duty gates, and automatic tuning at clock-in, with oxide-radio
  • Treasury and Payroll — Salaries on an interval, unpaid back pay, and a desktop-style boss panel for roster, treasury, payroll, uniforms, gear and fleet. With oxide-tablet running, it also opens as a Fire Command tablet app
  • Uniforms and Gear — An in-game uniform builder that owns only the clothing slots you choose, and gear-room loadouts paid by the treasury or by the firefighter, stocked by bosses from an admin-approved item list
  • Live Settings — In-game settings editor (/fire settings) covering almost every setting, stored in the database and applied live
  • ESX Job Sync — Optional sync, so departments and grades appear in ESX's jobs tables without editing them by hand
  • Works with Oxide HUD — With the free Oxide HUD, players move or hide the firefighting panels with /hud, and the panels take the server's accent colour
  • Developer API — Server exports to start and clear fires, start calls, report lightning, and read stats and settings, plus documented events and state bags
  • Localized — Every panel, notification, command and target label reads from locales/*.json

Requirements

Required

ResourcePurpose
o-link (1.12.1 or newer)The bridge to your framework: character, job, money, inventory, notifications, target options, clothing, vehicle keys and fuel, dispatch, banking, phone, tablet, placement, help text, medical, weather and logging
ox_libTranslations, callbacks, keybinds and UI helpers
oxmysqlSaves departments, apparatus, sites and settings to your database

oxide-fire checks for these three when it starts. If one is missing, the server console names it and oxide-fire does not start.

Needed in practice

ResourceWhy
A target resourceEvery station point, apparatus bay and rescue option is a target option. Without one, nobody can clock in
An inventoryPersonal lockers, apparatus equipment compartments, gear-room loadouts and the scba item
A clothing resourceDepartment uniforms

Any that o-link supports works. See Installation for the lists.

Optional

ResourceWhat it adds
oxide-dispatchFire call alerts on a dispatch board that close themselves when the fire is out. Other dispatch resources work too, see Dispatch alerts
oxide-weatherReal wind and rain that steer and slow fires, and lightning that starts brush fires. Without it, each fire gets a random wind
oxide-radioDepartment radio channels with rank and duty requirements. Firefighters are tuned to their department's default channel when they clock in
A phone resource (for example oxide-phone)Page-outs: on-duty firefighters get a phone notification for every new call
oxide-tabletThe boss desktop opens as a "Fire Command" app on the tablet
A banking resource (for example oxide-banking)Department treasuries held in real bank accounts
An EMS job (for example oxide-ems)Medics receive rescue alerts and take over casualties brought out of fires
oxide-medicalSmoke inhalation that builds while players breathe smoke and clears in clean air or with a medic, in place of plain health loss
g-multijobHires, promotions and dismissals show up in the multi-job menu (with Multi-department enrollment turned on)
Oxide HUD (free, oxide-hud)Players move or hide the firefighting panels with /hud, and the panels take the server's accent colour. Without it they sit where Config.HudLayout puts them

Supported Frameworks

FrameworkSupport
QBCore (qb-core)Full
Qbox (qbx_core)Full
ESX (es_extended)Full. Needs an inventory that o-link supports, not ESX's built-in one

None of the three ships a fire job, so you add one. The framework guides show how.

Quick Start

Place oxide-fire in your server's resources folder.

Add it to your server.cfg, after your framework, your other scripts and o-link:

server.cfg
# 1. Framework, and everything it needs
ensure oxmysql
ensure ox_lib
ensure qb-core # or es_extended, or qbx_core

# 2. Your other scripts (inventory, target, clothing, phone, banking...)
ensure ox_target

# 3. o-link, the bridge
ensure o-link

# 4. Oxide resources
ensure oxide-weather # optional
ensure oxide-dispatch # optional
ensure oxide-radio # optional, department radio channels
ensure oxide-fire

Add a fire job to your framework. No framework ships one. See Installation.

Register the scba item in your inventory and copy itemimages/scba.png into your inventory's image folder. See Register the scba item.

Restart the whole server, not just the resource. The hose nozzle, the hose couplings and the SCBA backpack are streamed models and need a full restart to load.

Make sure your account is a server admin (in a group with the admin permission, see Installation), then run /fire admin in game to create a department.

The database tables are created automatically the first time oxide-fire starts. The database user needs permission to create tables.

See the Installation Guide for the full setup.
