The launch film: one call, from the station bell to the last hot spot, recorded in game.

01The fire

Everyone sees
the same fire.

The server runs every fire, so every player on the street sees the same flames, spreading with the wind and going out for everyone at once.

Run by the server

Every fire is a set of burning points the server runs. Everyone on the street sees the same flames in the same places, and the fire goes out for everyone at once.

It fights back

Points heal when you let up and spread with the wind. With Oxide Weather the wind is real and heavy rain slows the spread; without it, each fire gets its own wind.

Three call types

Vehicle fires (10-73) with a locked, burning wreck, brush fires (10-74) that stay inside their wildfire zone, and structure fires (10-70) that move through a building.

Calls come in on their own

A call generator with on-duty minimums and a cap on burning calls. The station bell rings, and with a phone resource every firefighter on duty gets a page.

Three difficulties

Casual, Standard and Realistic change how strong fires are, how fast they spread and whether knocked-down points smoulder and reignite.

Kind to the frame rate

At most 6 fires burn at once, with up to 35 burning points per fire and 70 across the server.

02Knockdown

Jet. Fog.
Foam.

Real equipment, from apparatus your department owns: each engine carries its own water, foam and hose outlets.

Attack line / jet

A firefighter in turnouts and breathing air sprays a jet into a wall of flame, with the Attack Line card top left
Jet, fog or foam, with the attack-line card showing the water and foam left.

The roof cannon

A red fire engine parked in front of a burning restaurant, its roof cannon spraying the flames
Engine 32 knocking down the Lucky Plucker's flame wall from outside.

The roof cannon

The driver of the stock firetruk knocks a big fire down from outside, reaching about 45 m. It is the strongest tool on the fireground.

Hydrant line

A firefighter sprays a burning car beside a red gun-club wall, with the hydrant line's card top left at 100 % water
A line straight off a hydrant onto a car fire. Hydrants never run dry.

Hydrants and supply lines

Hydrants never run dry. A supply line keeps an engine's tank full, and pulls loose if the engine drives off. Water comes only from the map's real hydrants.

Attack lines

Take a line off an engine's hose outlets or straight from a hydrant. Jet for reach, fog up close, foam for vehicle fires. The stream falls short as the tank empties.

Foam

Carried in the engine's foam tank. It knocks down burning cars faster than water, and fuel spills that water barely touches.

Extinguishers for anyone

Any player holding a fire extinguisher can help on a small fire, firefighter or not.

03Air

Air is
a clock.

Smoke hurts anyone breathing it without air, and the air on your back runs down while the mask is on.

Breathing air

A firefighter in turnouts, mask and breathing apparatus stands in the station's engine bay
Turnouts and an SCBA from the station: 15:00 of air on Standard by default.

Head out at half

A firefighter fights a rooftop fire while the SCBA ring reads 7:28 at 50 % and a head-out warning shows
The ring turns amber at half, with the game's own head-out warning.

Breathing air

A mask with an air timer and a backpack every player sees, shaped to the male and the female body. Refill it at the gear room or an apparatus.

Head out at half

At half the air the ring turns amber and tells you to head out. At a third the low-air alarm starts, and anyone within 15 m hears it.

Smoke

Smoke around every burning point darkens the view and costs health without a working mask. With Oxide Medical it builds up as smoke inhalation instead.

Rescue / drag

A masked firefighter drags a casualty under the arms along the pavement away from a fire, with the Dragging card
Drag them clear of the flames and the smoke.

04Rescue

Get them
clear.

People trapped inside

Structure fires can have one or two casualties on a survival clock: 10 minutes on Standard. Get within 10 m and you are told someone is calling for help.

Get them clear

Carry or drag them 20 m from the fire and out of its smoke. Carries and drags work on downed players too.

Hand them to EMS

A rescue sends a 10-52 alert to your medics (the ambulance and ems jobs by default), and a medic takes over their care.

  • 10-52 alert to EMS

05Overhaul

Down isn't
out.

Knock a spot down and walk away, and it can flare right back up. The call is over when the fire card turns green.

Overhaul / the axe

A firefighter swings an axe at a smouldering bin beside a house, with the Hot Spot card top left
A smouldering hot spot flares back up unless you soak it or pull it apart.

Fire out

A firefighter walks down a side path after the last hot spot, with the fire card reading Fire out 100 % and 205
The fire card tracks the knockdown until it turns green. Points are feedback, never pay.

Hot spots

On Standard and Realistic, knocked-down points smoulder with ash, embers and a glow, and flare back up unless they are soaked.

The axe

A hatchet, battle axe or stone hatchet pulls a hot spot apart for good.

The fire card

Points for knockdowns, assists and putting the fire out, and deductions for mistakes. Feedback only: never paid, and it can be switched off.

06The department

Built
in game.

Behind every call is a department you build with /fire admin, not in config files: stations, ranks, uniforms, loadouts and the places fires break out.

The gear room

The Gear Room panel in the engine bay, showing the Engine Company loadout and a Treasury Pays tag
Loadouts a rank can take, paid for by the department treasury.

/fire admin / incident sites

The Fire admin panel's Incident Sites list with Lucky Plucker, Ammunation, Auto Repairs Lot and Davis Duplex
Fire sites are built in game: edit one in the world, teleport to it or start a fire there.

/fire admin

Departments, grades, salaries, badges, stations, apparatus bays, uniforms, loadouts, radio channels, incident sites and wildfire zones, with a setup checklist per department.

Stations

Clock-in points, personal lockers, a gear room, a call board with GPS to the fire and a management desk, each placed in the world with a live preview.

Uniforms and the gear room

A uniform builder that owns only the clothing slots you choose, and loadouts paid by the treasury or by the firefighter.

Hiring

Through /fire hire, a job offer from the boss desktop, or a change to the player's framework job. Badge numbers are given automatically.

The incident editor

Fly round a building and place its fire points and victim spots, or the spot for a burning wreck, and see exactly where a call will put them. Problems are flagged before you save.

Wildfire zones

Mark the corners of the areas where brush fires start and spread. With Oxide Weather, lightning can start a brush fire inside one.

07Apparatus

Every engine
is a unit.

The department owns its fleet. Each unit carries its class's water and foam, hose outlets, spare air and equipment compartment, and stays where it was left.

Class defaults; a catalog entry or a unit can carry its own numbers

A real fleet

Bought from a catalog with treasury money and taken out of a station bay with keys and fuel set up. Each unit keeps its fuel, damage and water.

Kept in the world

A unit stays where it was left, even through a server restart. It is written off only when the server itself sees it wrecked or sunk.

Your own fire vehicles

The catalog ships the stock firetruk engine and lguard chief car. Add yours as a car, bike, quad, boat, helicopter or plane, with hose outlets placed for add-on trucks.

08Treasury and payroll

Buys the engines.
Pays the crew.

Bosses run the department from a desktop: who is on the roster, what the treasury holds, and what it buys.

The boss desktop

The Fire boss desktop with the Roster and Treasury windows open, showing a $417,100 balance and payroll lines
The roster, and a treasury that buys the engines and pays the crew.

Treasury

Department money buys the apparatus and pays the crew. With a banking resource, it is a real job bank account, and it never goes below zero.

Payroll

Salaries on an interval, every 15 minutes by default. When the treasury runs dry, unpaid wages are kept as back pay.

One desktop

Roster, treasury, payroll, fleet, gear room, uniforms and the department in windows. With Oxide Tablet it also opens as the Fire Command app.

09Radio channels

Oxide Radio included

One department.
One channel.

Oxide Radio ships alongside Oxide Fire. Set up the department's channels in /fire admin, and firefighters are on the right one the moment they clock in.

/fire admin / radio

  • Label
  • Minimum rank
  • On duty only
  • Default at clock-in

Department channels

Numbered channels, each with a label, a minimum rank and an optional on-duty requirement. Only that department's firefighters can tune in.

Tuned at clock-in

Mark one channel as the default, and every firefighter is tuned to it when they clock in.

Kept in step

Renaming or deleting a department updates its channels at once. Frequencies are unique, so two departments never share one by accident.

10For owners and developers

Tune it live.
Wire it in.

Change how the department runs without a restart, and connect the rest of your server through optional resources and exports.

Settings applied live

/fire settings is a searchable editor with Basic and Advanced tabs. Changes are saved to the database and apply at once, with no restart. Fire, hose and tool tuning stays in shared/config.lua.

Works with Oxide HUD

With the free Oxide HUD, players move or hide the firefighting panels with /hud, and the panels take the server's accent colour.

ESX job sync

Optional: departments and grades appear in ESX's jobs tables without editing them by hand.

Translatable

Every panel, notification, command and target label reads from locales/*.json.

Works better with

All optional. Other dispatch, phone and banking resources that o-link supports work too

For developers

Start a call from any script.

Server exports start and clear fires, start calls exactly as the generator does, report lightning, and read stats and settings, with documented events and state bags beside them.

Exports & API ↗
server.luaLua
-- A structure fire at incident site 4 (set up in /fire admin)
local id, why = exports['oxide-fire']:StartCall('structure', { siteId = 4 })

-- A brush fire somewhere inside wildfire zone 2
local id2 = exports['oxide-fire']:StartCall('brush', { zoneId = 2 })

From the exports reference: the call raises its alert, rings the station bell and goes on the call board.

11Before you install

  • ESX, with an inventory o-link supports instead of ESX's built-in one
  • All framework interaction goes through o-link

Database

Fourteen tables plus the shared oxide_settings table, created on first start. There is nothing to import; the database user needs permission to create tables.

Code delivery

Escrow protected through Cfx.re asset escrow. shared/config.lua, shared/config/*.lua, locales/*.json, sql/*.sql and itemimages/*.lua are open.

Frontend

Vue 3, Vite and Tailwind CSS for every panel and the firefighting HUDs. The UI ships pre-built: no build step.

Is Oxide Radio included?

Yes. Oxide Radio ships alongside Oxide Fire, as it does with Oxide Police and Oxide EMS, and both are added to your Cfx.re Portal assets. Start oxide-radio with it and set up the channels in /fire admin → Radio.

Which frameworks does it run on?

QBCore, Qbox and ESX, through o-link 1.12.1 or newer. None of the three ships a fire job, so you add one; each framework's install guide has a ready-made entry.

Do I need Oxide Dispatch, Oxide Weather or Oxide EMS?

No, they are optional. Without a dispatch resource, firefighters still get a notification and a map blip for each call. Without a weather resource, each fire gets its own wind. Without an EMS job, a rescued casualty is taken away after 5 minutes.

Which fire trucks does it use?

The catalog ships GTA's own firetruk engine and lguard chief car. Add the fire vehicles installed on your server in /fire settings, and place the hose outlets of add-on trucks in /fire admin.

Do calls start on their own?

Yes, once an admin has set up incident sites or wildfire zones in /fire admin, and while enough firefighters are on duty (2 by default). Admins can also start a call straight away.

Are firefighters paid per fire?

No. Points on the fire card are feedback only and are never paid. Firefighters are paid their grade's salary on an interval while on duty, from the department treasury by default.
