Features

How Leakd works for players — accounts, the home feed, posting, stories, reels, search, profiles, private accounts, blocking, activity, Direct, going live, the verified badge, notifications and police evidence.

Accounts

Leakd uses the phone's own accounts. The first time Leakd opens on a phone with a SIM, the phone makes an account for that SIM with a random username. Players can rename it, set a password, log out, switch account or log in on another phone (Profile → the username at the top). An account with a password needs it on every new phone, so a stolen SIM is not a way in.

Home

The bar at the top has Activity (the heart, with a dot for anything new) and Direct (with the number of unread chats). Below it is the row of stories, then posts from the people you follow and your own, newest first. Popular posts move up a little, and one person's posts do not fill the screen when others have posted.

A post shows its author, the place (if one was added), its photos side by side with a counter, the like, comment, share and save buttons, the like count, the caption and the time. Videos play muted while on screen; tap the speaker to hear them. Double tap a post to like it.

Captions, comments, bios and messages turn @mentions into links to the person and #hashtags into links to the hashtag page. Mentioned people are told, if they can see the post.

Share opens a sheet with your recent chats (or search for anyone) to send the post in Direct, and "Share to..." for the phone's own share sheet (Messages and the rest) as a leakd:// link that opens the post.

The menu on your own post edits the caption or deletes the post. On someone else's post it shares, opens the account, or reports.

Posting

Create (the + tab) offers Post, Story and Live.

A post is up to 10 photos or one video, chosen from the phone's Photos or taken with its Camera. Each photo can have one of Leakd's filters (Vinewood, Sandy, Chiliad, Vespucci, Paleto, Noir, Smog, Neon). Add a caption and, if you like, the place you are (the phone asks for Location the first time).

Stories

A story is one photo or video that shows for 24 hours. Rings in the story row: colourful for stories you have not seen, grey once seen, red with LIVE for someone who is live.

In the viewer, tap the right side for the next story, the left for the previous one, and hold to pause. Bars at the top show where you are. Replying to someone's story sends a message in Direct with the story attached. On your own story, "Seen by" lists who watched it, and the menu deletes it.

Reels

Video posts one screen at a time: scroll up for the next. Tap for sound, double tap to like. The side buttons like, comment, share and save.

Search and Explore

The Search tab shows a grid of popular recent posts from public accounts. Typing searches for accounts (by username or name) and hashtags. A hashtag page shows how many posts use it, its top posts and the newest.

Profile

Your profile shows your photo, counts (posts, followers, following), name, a Verified line if you have the badge, and your bio. Tabs: Posts, Reels, Tagged (posts that mention you) and Saved (only you see it). Edit profile changes your photo, name, username, bio and private account setting.

On someone else's profile: Follow (or Following, or Requested for a private account), Message, and their grids. A private account shows nothing until it approves you.

Private accounts

With Private account on, new followers send a request you approve or delete (Activity → Follow requests). Only approved followers see your posts, stories, followers and lives. Turning it off approves everyone waiting.

Blocking

The menu (…) on someone's profile blocks them. Blocking ends both follows and any follow request, takes them off your live, and from then on they cannot find your profile, posts, stories or lives, follow you or message you; you no longer see theirs either. Neither of you sees the other's comments or likes, and neither can tag the other: tags between you are removed, and do not come back after an unblock unless the post is edited. They are not told. Their profile shows you an Unblock button, and Profile → menu → Blocked accounts lists everyone you blocked.

Activity

Likes, comments, mentions, new followers and accepted requests, new ones first. Opening Activity marks everything read and clears its notifications.

Direct

Your chats, newest first, with unread ones in bold. Start a new one with the pencil. A chat shows text, photos, shared posts and story replies, with "Seen" under your last message once they read it. New messages arrive while the chat is open.

Live

Go Live asks for a title and the front or back camera. The phone's camera then fills the screen with the phone's LIVE bar on top (time, viewers, microphone, flip and End), and Leakd shows your viewers' comments and hearts over it. Followers get a "started a live video" notification that opens the live.

Viewers watch from anywhere on the map, see the viewer count, comment, and tap the heart to send hearts that float up the screen. When the live ends, everyone is told; the host sees how long it ran, the most viewers at once and the hearts.

If a live is full, or the server has too many lives or viewers already, the player is told so.

A private account's lives are for its approved followers only; anyone else is told the account is private. Blocked and banned accounts cannot watch. Blocking a viewer, or removing a follower from a private account, takes them off a live that is on, and they see why.

Verified

Admins give or take the blue verified badge (see Admin). It shows after the name everywhere and as a Verified line on the profile, and open apps update at once.

Notifications

Likes, comments, follows, mentions, messages and lives arrive as phone notifications. Tapping one opens the post, profile, chat or live it is about. The phone decides what a locked screen shows (its Show Previews setting). Notifications clear once you see what they were about. Taking back a like, follow or tag and giving it again notifies at most once every two days.

Police

Posts, edits, deletes, comments, likes, follows, messages (on both phones), stories and live comments are kept on the phone as evidence for Forensics, and the phone records lives itself. A phone police hold opens Leakd read only: everything shows, but nothing can be posted, liked or sent from it, and reading there marks nothing read.
