Connect grower progression, signature strains, phone apps, gangs, skills, dispatch, and Oxide HUD.

oxide-weed needs only ox_lib, oxmysql and o-link. Everything on this page is optional. Each resource adds something when it runs, and oxide-weed works without every one of them.

oxide-weed finds these resources while it runs, so most need no setup. Where a step is needed, it is listed under Setup.

oxide-drugselling

Players sell weed to street buyers through oxide-drugselling; oxide-weed has no selling of its own.

What it adds

  • Grower XP for each sale, by weight: 10 XP a gram by default, set in oxide-drugselling.
  • Each sale counts the units sold of its strain on the Grower Profile, and moves sale goals ("Sell 15 units on the street"), which are only drawn while oxide-drugselling runs.
  • Each sale of a signature strain builds its reputation.
  • With one line added to oxide-drugselling's weed pricing, a signature strain's reputation raises its street price.

Without it

  • There is no street selling, sale goals are not drawn, and reputation only falls (from police seizures). Growing, processing and progression work as usual.

Setup

  • Selling, mastery and goals need no extra setup. Weight-based XP requires oxide-drugselling 2.1.0 or newer: merge weed xpUnits values 1, 3, 6, 12, 24 and 35 and set weed progression.xpPerUnit to 10 in its file-only shared/config/drugs.lua. The price bonus needs the line described in Configuration - Paying the price bonus.

oxide-phone and oxide-tablet

The Grower Profile as an app called Grower on either device, with a Grower level and a Grower goals widget for the home screen. See Features - The Grower app.

What it adds

  • The profile, strain mastery, goals with swaps and master rank picks wherever the player is.
  • Widgets with the player's level progress and today's goals, kept up to date as they earn XP.
  • A badge on the app while a perk pick is waiting.

Without it

  • /weed stats opens the same profile on screen. Nothing else changes.

Setup

  • None: the app appears in each device's app store once the device runs. To install it on every device, add the app id grower to the device's preinstalled apps.
  • Turn the app, either device or the widgets off under Grower App in /weed settings. See Configuration - Grower app.
  • The app is offered on oxide-phone only, not on other phones o-link supports.

oxide-gangs

What it adds

  • Each plant harvest and brick press can report influence for the grower's gang where it happens. oxide-gangs applies its own hourly cap.

Without it

  • Nothing is reported, and nothing breaks.

Setup

Skill Systems

What it adds

  • With a global skill system that o-link supports (pickle_xp, ot_skills, evolent_skills, or o-link's own skills), every grower XP grant is also added to one of its skills.

Without it

  • Grower XP is kept by oxide-weed alone.

Setup

  • Set Skills mirror under Grower XP in /weed settings to the skill's name. Empty, the default, turns it off. A name the skill system doesn't know is logged once.

Dispatch Resources

What it adds

  • Police alerts from planting, harvesting, drying and brick pressing go out through the dispatch resource you run (ps-dispatch, qs_dispatch, cd_dispatch, lb-tablet, the common MDTs and more).

Without it

  • When alerts are on, players with the alert job get a notification and a map blip instead.

Oxide HUD

Oxide HUD (oxide-hud) is Oxide Studios' free HUD. With it running, it decides where four parts of the weed screen go:

  • the stage header, the panel in the top-left corner that names the step a player is on and what to do next;
  • the controls, the row of key prompts along the bottom of the screen, with the hose length bar above them while a player holds the water hose;
  • the level-up banner at the top of the screen;
  • the XP pop-ups near the bottom of the screen.

What it adds

  • Each of them is placed just clear of the HUD's own widgets and minimap, so they never overlap.
  • Each player can drag them to another spot in the HUD editor (/hud), or switch any of them off in game from the editor's Layers tab. While the editor is open, each one shows a sample so the player can see what they are moving.
  • The stage header shares one spot with the stage cards of other jobs that use Oxide HUD, and the controls share one spot with other resources' key prompts, since only one shows at a time, instead of stacking under them.
  • The stage HUDs (the four parts above, the minigame gauges and the labels over plants) hide whenever the HUD hides: in the pause menu, during a cinematic, while the player is dead or downed, and during character selection. They stay on screen while a weed menu or the phone is open.

Without it

  • Everything stays where it has always been. Nothing else changes.

Setup

  • None. Start Oxide HUD and oxide-weed uses it. It needs o-link 1.12.1 or newer; with an older o-link everything keeps its old spot.

Your Own Resources

oxide-weed has exports for a player's level, rank and progression, plant and strain data, and its settings, and raises server events when a player levels up, reaches a master rank, or has a grow tent seized. See Exports.
